And this is why the Lotus Evora can sound good

What model year is this?
I remember we had an early-mid 90s camry that could do this, although we never revved it (my parents, I mean).

YES, exactly! Of course V6-swapped MR2s got there first. /hipster

It's a '99, so it has the 1MZ engine that also came with the chance of sludge problems. Yours probably had the same engine; the '93s came with the stouter but heavier 3VZ engine.

Hehe, thanks. Glad it gets a reaction; I was particularly proud when I came up with it.

Yup, thanks. I'm 78% sure we had the 3VZ engine. It was a beast.
The 2001 Sienna we have also makes similar V6 roar, but only when it quits sounding like an electric screwdriver motor (no, seriously).
My mom's 2001 S60 2.4t also has an epic exhaust note. I5s and low-pressure turbos FTW!

AND THIS, TOYOTA, IS HOW THE "ROYAL JAPANESE CROWN" (Kamuri, and then the Anglicized Camry) SHOULD SOUND RIGHT OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE!
